I quit my state of trance since I arrived here. There sooo many things to do and to see that I decided to dedicate a separate post to them.
The very first thing you should do is to visit Vancouver Lookout. It's a great place to get the first sight on the city. They give you a day ticket so you may come there 2 times a day - one in the morning and one before 10 p.m. to feel the difference. I'm about to do that this night. The morning pictures are available here.
Vancouver cherishes all cultures and all communities available inside. A good example is the China town 2 blocks away from my apartment. There's a culture center named after Dr. Sun Yat-Sen. It has an awesome garden! You may glance at it on my photos here.
Vancouver proudly hosts the famous Stanley park. It's really amazing place. You might think: what is so special about the bunch of trees? Well, there's is something actually. Start walking from the English Bay and go around the Stanley Park. You'll get a chance to admire the beauty of nature washed by the pure ocean water, a few beaches and a pool, and the awesome view of the other bank of the Burrard inlet! Unfortunately my camera batteries died before I captured the scenery. Take a quick look at the park here.
Just to keep my story going I decided to see the Coal Harbor. It is a really nice place to walk on the weekend especially if the weather is fine and it's warm outdoors. This area is very similar to the Yaletown with it's restaurants, cafes and other place to go out. I'm sorry for not making it to the aquarium this weekend. I would have shown up there if it wasn't raining like never before. To cut the long story short - see the pictures here. You'll find the picture of my future apartment building in the gallery. I have signed the lease but will move in by the beginning of December 2007.
Saturday, November 10 was the best weather for the whole week. It was sunny and warm. I couldn't sit at home so I took my camera, put my headphones on and embarked the "19 - Stanley Park" bus to see the Vancouver aquarium. It is a really amazing place. I've seen a lot aquariums in my life but this is one that dеservеs attention. They got dolphins there, sea otters and belugas which you can observe through the web-cam on their web site It's a perfect place for kids and parents. My impressions are documented in the corresponding image gallery.
I will be updating this post after my visits to the Vancouver attractions. That's it so far.
