I have finally relocated to the Vancouver. Today is the first day of my stay and I'm very impressed of the environment! I checked in the awesome apartment in the Vancouver downtown rented for me by Microsoft. It is totally furnitured and equipped with anything I ever thought of. The only problem I encountered was the wall outlet. It is very different from the Europe where I come from. I spent a few hours and 45$ CAD to get the adapter. I even cut my hand with the knife while opening it! But since you read this post you know that it all ended up successfully!
I flew from Kiev to Vancouver through the Amsterdam. I met a Canadian doctor Gerard Olivier when boarding the plane at the Schiphole airport. We had a lot of time to talk and once he found out that I'm going to live in Canada he invited me to join him and his son's family this night to have a dinner together and to get me acquainted to his children living in Vancouver to keep an eye on me for a while. He's a good man but I don't wanna go out tonight. When we landed at the Vancouver International Airport he gave me 2 CAD for the telephone call. It was so strange that some man is giving me money for nothing. However I must admit that his money was a good catch for me 'cuz my Ukrainian wireless carrier MTS has blocked outgoing roaming calls and I was forced to use TELUS public phone. I just bought a pre-paid service from Rogers. Hope it's not that dumb as MTS.
My journey from Kiev to Vancouver lasted 18 hours. I was so tired that I fall asleep in the bathÂ

I woke up when the water was cold.
I've been out today and I'm really shocked. The city is very beautiful! It is surrounded by mountains and has the pacific ocean connection. The weather is sunny and the climate is very soft. Gerard told me about the places I must see here and I will definitely start exploring Vancouver on the weekend. Another thing that is very unusual to me is that bums are very polite people. I gave one 15 cents today and she provided me with all the information I needed.
That's it. I think I didn't miss a thing. There's an image gallery dedicated to this post.
